Initial Examination
30 year old female with an initial chief complaint of low back pain, daily headaches, and asthma.
Findings: As you can see on her initial x-ray, there is a reversal in the cervical curve which leads to anterior head carriage of the head. Hypertrophic arthritic changes are noted at C5.
Discussion: This puts a tremendous amount of tension on the spinal cord as well as too much pressure on the joints of the spine.
Progressive Examination Performed After Being Under Care for 6 Months
At her 6 month exam, she reported that she felt 80-90% better. Her low back pain was almost completely gone, her headaches had decreased to 2-3 times per week, but she still used her inhaler on a daily basis.
Findings: Slight reversal in the cervical spine with 19mm of anterior head carriage. Hypertrophic arthritic changes are noted at C5.
Discussion: By looking at her comparative x-ray (#2), you can see that the cervical curve is starting to come back towards normal, which is why she is starting to feel much better. She is still experiencing some symptoms due to the fact that there is still a slight reversal in her cervical curve.
Progressive Examination Performed After Being Under Care for 12 Months
At her 12 month exam, she reported that she felt 100% better. She no longer experiences any low back pain, she no longer has headaches, and she no longer requires the use of her inhalers.
Findings: The cervical curve is decreased. There is 10mm of anterior head carriage. Hypertrophic arthritic changes are noted at C5.
Discussion: As you can see on her latest x-ray, her curve is not yet perfect, but the reversal is now gone. Although we have not yet reached full correction, this is a great example of how health can be restored to the body by removing tension on the nervous system.
