Keep Calm and Stay Hydrated

jogging-in-woods-sqWater accounts for 75% of brain mass. 75%! No wonder there seems to be a correlation between dehydration and headaches! Water is essential for survival, metabolism, and functions like body temperature regulation.

Researchers have been studying the effects of dehydration and rehydration on cognitive performance and mood. Can you guess what they found?

Dehydration was associated with decreased attention span, reduced short-term memory, and reduced vigor (Zhang, 2019). Other notable findings in dehydrated study participants were reduced alertness and increased tiredness. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms and feelings throughout the day, check in to see if you have had any or enough water For the average adult weighing 150 lbs or more, 1.5L per day is a must in order to maintain adequate hydration.

Drinking adequate water is also vitally important for your spinal correction! Keeping your body well-hydrated is supportive to your nervous system health and provides important lubrication for your joints.
